Aligned to the Science of Reading, the lessons focus on the skills needed to become a proficient and skilled reader and critical thinking expert.

Description

Mind Play has been proven to improve students’ reading one grade level for every 20 hours of active time on the course. 30 minutes per day, five days per week is recommended, to improve reading by one grade level in approximately ten weeks. Mind Play provides a detailed assessment of strengths and weaknesses and creates a personlised learning plan with one-on-one instruction, featuring virtual reading tutors.

Critical thinking is the process of actively and skillfully analysing and evaluating information to reach a conclusion. It involves questioning assumptions, reasoning logically, and looking at different perspectives on a problem. The development of these skills should start prior to starting the GED. Essential Ed has teamed up with MindPlay to offer Reading Ultra, an online reading program for students that adapts to their reading level and provides remediation and acceleration in phonics, grammar, fluency, comprehension, and phonemic awareness. This is the perfect addition to any Pre-GED preparation Course.
